Finding a hotel that isn’t the size of a shoe box and costs you the same amount as a pair of Louboutins ain’t easy.

Yes, it’s okay to find a hotel costing circa £100 that you can just about turn around in, but sometimes it’s okay to spend that little bit extra - to feel that added luxury and hell, be able to cartwheel your way around the room if you fancy it.

This year, Jamie and I didn’t celebrate New Years Eve - instead, as part of his Christmas present I took him to London on New Years Day. We spent it at the cinema, eating popcorn and then having a three course lunch before crashing out in our beautiful hotel room at the LaLit London.

A boutique, Indian hotel with a London twist. The hotel opened in 2017 and was once a Grammar School - the outside remains beautifully British and whilst the interior holds on to its original features the LaLit have cleverly introduced rich colour, contemporary furniture and stunning Indian artworks created specifically for the London hotel. It’s a truly breathtaking mix of two worlds. 

With views of the city from our room, and Tower Bridge on the horizon it’s situated in the most beautiful part of London. Our room had a ceiling that reached all the way to the sky and a vast amount of space with an elegant headboard tapestries and an opulent bathroom that came with a heated toilet seat. Quite literally luxury from top, to bottom ;)

Plus, Tooley Street was so very quiet, we could’ve been anywhere - but were actually a stones-throw away from pretty much everything.

In the morning we enjoyed a gorgeous breakfast buffet in the Baluchi…I mean it’s not called the Great Hall for nothing, I literally gasped when we walked in and saw the grand blue high ceiling and pendants.

Interior aside, my favourite thing about the LaLit, and why I’d highly recommend it as a wonderful treat, is that their message for 2018 is; #PureLove. They welcome everyone without any discrimination on the basis on gender, sexual preferences, religion or physical abilities. In 2017 they put on a handful of events for differently abled, the LGBTQIA community, acid attack survivors, pet friendly brunches and more.

They respect your choices and celebrate diversity. And whilst you’d assume that was a given, so often it’s not, and it’s really refreshing to hear a business speak so openly about how truly welcoming they will be.

Jamie and I had such a beautiful stay, I can’t wait to go back.
